Porotherm Clay Blocks for Exterior Walls

Under the brand Porotherm, Wienerberger offers a qualitatively optimized, complete system.

Monolithic Wall
The monolithic external wall

Consists of just one wall construction material (other than plaster and mortar). Here, the Porotherm clay block fulfils the requirements for thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire protection and static as well as ensuring a pleasant indoor climate.

Cavity Wall with Facing BricksThe Cavity Wall with Facing Bricks

This type of cabity wall is one of the most important external wall constructions in many European countries.

The logical separation of the external wall by function into:

- A load-bearing clay block wall
- A thermal insulation layerwith a ventilated cavity
- A facade made from facing bricks

This allows the outstanding properties of the load-bearing clay block wall and the facing bricks to be fully exploited.

Cavity Wall with Plaster

The Cavity Wall with Plaster
Facade

In this type of cavity wall construction, the façade is not made of facing bricks, but of rendered 100mm, 140mm or 190mm Porotherm clay blocks.

Additional Thermal InsulationAn External Wall with Additional Thermal Insulation

An additional layer of thermal insulation is applied externally to a load-bearing Porotherm clay block wall. In a construction with additional heat insulation, the Porotherm clay block takes over not only the static functions, but also those of sound insulation and heat storage.

Porotherm - load bearing and non load bearing inner walls

The ideal combination of optimal fire and sound protection as well as high thermal insulation.
